Last Problem
If a woman-and-a-half can eat a pie-and-a-half in a minute-and-a-half, how many women would it take to eat 60 pies in 30 minutes?
Answer:
The answer is “3” – double the women so that 3 women eat 3 pies in 1 1/2 minutes – so that means one woman can eat one pie in 1 1/2 minutes. So, in 30 minutes, one woman can eat 20 pies. 3 times 20 pies is 60 pies, so it takes 3 women.
Today’s problem:
A pig had to share a stable and feed bags with a horse and a cow. If the pig ate oats, then the horse ate what the cow ate. If the horse ate oats, then the pig ate what the cow did not eat. If the cow ate hay, then the pig ate what the horse ate. Who always ate from the same feed bag?
